Firebrand Congress leader and former Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy alleged that caretaker Telangana chief minister had gone in for dissolution of the assembly with a clear agenda to align the TRS with the AIMIM in the Assembly polls and BJP in Lok Sabha elections.

Revanth Reddy accused KCR of taking the help of communalist parties at both state and national levels to gain power but the forthcoming assembly polls would send the TRS packing, he predicted.

The TRS had promised 12% reservaions to Muslims during the 2014 elections and failed miserably on this count, Reddy alleged. The AIMIM remained silent on this issue, he said.

KCR had also announced a Rs 100 crore package to the old city on the eve of the month of Ramadaan. And while the Assembly stood dissolved, development work related to this project had not even started, Reddy observed. Instead, the AIMIm was gifted with precious land by the TRS, he alleged. As a result, the party which claimed to stand up for the welfare of Muslims was silent when injustice was being done to the community, he said. He pointed out that the caretaker chief ministe himself had described AIMIM as a friendly party.

The MIM on its part, seemed to look the other way at KCR's proximity to the BJP, he added. He accused KCR of not utilising the budget allocated for welfare of minorities. He said the MIM was silent on this aspect as well.

Revanth Reddy also accused KCR of supporting all of PM Narendra Modi's measures including demonitisation, GST, presidential and vice-presidential elections.

Further, he added that even when it came to voting on the no-confidence motion against the NDA government, the TRS stayed away supporting the BJP indirectly. He pointed to the elections of the deputy chairman Rajya Sabha and said that the TRS endorsed the NDA candidate.

All these facts point to a clear tie-up between TRS and BJP for the Lok Sabha elections and a similar pact with the MIM for the assembly polls.

Revanth Reddy warned that the TRS was embarking on a dangerous political journey which would prove to be detrimental to its growth. He also appealed to secular citizens not to fall prey to the trap laid by KCR.
