Telangana Congress Committee vice president Abid Rasool Khan accused Telangana caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao of driving the state into bankruptcy. Khan alleged that this was the reason why KCR was cozying up to the BJP politically. The former chairman of AP Minorities commission said that from the time that the TRS assumed power, the state's finances had gradually declined leading it towards bankruptcy.

Borrowing heavily, the Telangana Govt under KCR had spent revenue indiscriminately glossing over the interests of the state. This made KCR and the Telangana state dependent on the Centre for finances. As a result, KCR had to be subservient to PM Narendra Modi.

Before recommending the dissolution of Telangana Assembly, KCR met Modi thrice in a span of two months and apprised him of the situation in the state. He also agree to act on the PM's agenda and plan of action, Khan alleged.

Abid Rasool Khan appealed to the minorities, backward classes and secular minded people to come together and defeat communal forces. Khan further observed that the dissolution of the Telangana Assembly was a pointer to the fact that the TRS and BJP might fight the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 together.

According to Khan, KCR had misled the Muslim community so far and donned the mask of a secular leader. By the number of tickets which were given to Muslim candidates, KCR's real face was unmasked, said Khan. Only two muslims managed to get TRS tickets out of 105 in the electoral fray, he said. And this was a clear reflection of KCR's proximity to the BJP, Khan alleged.
