TRS MLA Candidates List Announced By Telangana CM KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) today announced the list of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking to media after recommending dissolution of Assembly to governor ESL Narasimhan, the TRS Chief said that the TRS MLAs were gracious to leave the decision on dissolving the Assembly to him. KCR said that in the five months of the financial year 2018-19, Telangana achieved a growth rate of 21.76%.

KCR said that the Opposition party leaders were continuously trying to stall the work of irrigation projects by filing cases in Courts. "Telangana achieved a growth rate of 17.17% in the last four years, according to the Finance Ministry. The State received around 40 awards from Centre and national organizations, along with international acclaim for Mission Bhagiratha," he said. The TRS Chief attributed the high growth rate to the discipline and determination of the government.

Unlike any other State in the country, Telangana government invested Rs 26,000 crore on the irrigation projects in the last one year, he said. Exuding confidence on winning more than 100 Assembly constituencies in the State, the TRS supremo announced the party's candidates in 105 constituencies. KCR said that the candidates for the remaining 14 seats would be announced in a week's time.

Hours after dissolution of the Telangana state Assembly on Thursday, ruling TRS announced candidates for 105 constituencies. Caretaker Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K. Chandrasekhar Rao released the list of candidates. He announced the names at a news conference at TRS headquarters -- Telangana Bhavan. He said only two sitting candidates were denied tickets.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, said candidates for the remaining 14 constituencies will be announced soon. He was addressing the media a couple of hours after the cabinet meeting, which recommended dissolution of the Assembly to pave way for early polls. Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan accepted the recommendation.

KCR was confident that fresh elections to the state Assembly will be held in November. "There is no confusion over this," he said, adding that he has already spoken to the Chief Election Commissioner and requested him to hold the polls at the earliest.
