New Delhi: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy lambasted Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), for calling for elections by dissolving the legislative Assembly. Speaking at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters here today, Uttam said that it was finally time for ousting KCR from power. Alleging that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party completely failed in delivering its 2014 election promises, the Congress leader remarked that KCR was going for early polls, fearing defeat.

Uttam said that the last four years of KCR's rule was marked by lies, cheating and corruption. He added that not only were KCR's claims of Telangana's economic growth false, but the State topped the list of States in liquor sales, farmer suicides and huge debts also. "While Uttar Pradesh, which has a population of six times that of Telangana, earned a revenue of Rs 19,000 crore in liquor sales, Telangana earned a sum of Rs 20,000 crore," he mentioned.

Instead of lying on Telangana's growth, KCR should explain on the delivery of TRS's 2014 election promises, he demanded. The TPCC Chief called on the people from Dalit community to punish KCR, who had promised to make a Dalit the Chief Minister of Telangana. "To what extent did the TRS fulfill the promises of double bedroom houses, 3 acres of land to dalits, a job per house and reservations to the Muslim minorities and tribals?" Uttam Kumar Reddy questioned KCR.

The Congress leader felt that it was unfortunate that KCR criticized the family of Gandhis, which was responsible for the achievement of statehood to Telangana. He added that KCR's family will face the wrath of four crore people of Telangana in the days and weeks to come.
