Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao sounded the clarion call for early elections in the state by recommending dissolution of the Assembly. At a press meet convened this afternoon at the party headquarters, KCR exuded confidence about his party's success in the impending elections. He also criticised Congress leaders for their wild and baseless allegations and reminded them that Telangana under TRS had achieved unprecendented progress such as 24 hour power supply and a spate of irrigation projects nearing completion. He also said that there was no question of an alliance with the BJP and he was not a leader who believed in kow-towing to the diktats of Delhi. "I am KCR," he asserted adding that he was unlike Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who swung from party to party for electoral alliances. KCR said that KCR would have friendly contests with AIMIM.

KCR asserted that he would not be a slave to the Centre or any national party and would a strong independent line. He lambasted Telangana Congress leaders for making loose and unsubstantiated comments. Citing an instance he said that electricity had been purchased from the Chattisgarh state government and yet Congress leaders saw corruption in this as well.

KCR's press conference was a clear demonstration of his confidence and his unquestioned leadership in the TRS.
