Nalgonda: Senior Congress leader and MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy announced that he would quit politics if the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won at least one seat in the limits of Nalgonda and Bhongir parliamentary constituencies. Throwing a challenge at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), the MLC said that the TRS Chief was losing sleep over the backlash against the ruling party in Nalgonda district. He commented that it felt as if the statehood for Telangana was achieved for the sake of KCR family and not the people of the State.

Rajagopal Reddy said that KCR cheated Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, who took the decision to grant statehood to the State. Adding that Telangana was possible due to the efforts of Congress MPs, he alleged that the TRS government was ignoring the construction works of Pillaipalli canal, while it was spending Rs 1 lakh crore for building the Polavaram project.

"Komatireddy brothers grew up in politics due to the service done to people. We are not here to make money or to gain political advantage," he said. The Congress leader promised that the upcoming days were crucial for coming back to power. Komatireddy brothers will not leave the Congress party, he clarified.
