Hyderabad: Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader in Telangana Assembly Jana Reddy on Thursday accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) of choosing to go for early elections in fear of the public demand for implementation of the 2014 election promises.

Speaking at the CLP Office here, Jana Reddy said that KCR has to explain to the people of the State the reason for hastily going for early polls. He said that all political parties, including the Congress, would be ready for elections at any point of time.

Jana Reddy said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders should explain why they were inclined towards early elections when the people of the State had given them a mandate for five years. He observed that holding elections to the Lok Sabha and the Assembly simultaneously would save a lot of public money.

Asked about the indecent comments made by IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Congress leaders, the senior Congress leader said that all those who were in public life should maintain decorum.

"The party leadership will decide on the idea of alliances before the elections. We would not take a decision that would let down the people of the State. It has to be decided whether I should contest to Lok Sabha or Assembly," he said.

On the issue of the contempt plea with the High Court on the suspension of Congress legislators Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar, Jana Reddy said that the government should take Constitutional values into perspective and implement the Court's order.
