Hyderabad: Congress President Rahul Gandhi lambasted ruling Telangana government and said that the TRS government was not living up to the aspirations of the people who have fought for a separate state. Speaking at Vidyarthi-Nirudyoga Garjana (Student-Unemployment Protest) public meeting in Saroornagar Stadium here today, he paid homage to all those who sacrificed their lives to achieve a separate Telangana state. Rahul started his speech with Telugu words, to loud applause from people at the meeting.

Rahul said that people were dreaming of getting jobs when the state was formed, but the Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao has not done any good for students and unemployed. He expressed his concern that farmer suicides have not stopped in the state. The irrigation project tenders have never been transparent in the state over the four years, he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and KCR were specialists in redesigning the projects. He alleged that KCR supported the move of demonetisation by Modi. Comparing Modi and KCR he said both were stifling dissent and as part of that process Modi at Jantar Mantar and KCR at Dharna Chowk were not allowing any kind of protest. Both were behaving like dictators, he said.

Rahul pointed out that Modi had come up with a slogan for girl children called Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save Girl Child Educate Girl Child). But in Bihar, a BJP MLA was involved in the rape of a girl. He said that despite such inhuman acts happening in the country, Modi was silent and did not comment on these incidents.
