Hyderabad: BJP senior leader Kishan Reddy criticised the Telangana government for making false claims about bringing down the crime rate in the state as well as boasting that the Telangana police were the best in the country. He questioned if these were true, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should issue a statement on the child trafficking case of Yadadri.

Talking to media at the party office here today, Kishan Reddy said it was unfortunate that such trafficking and prostitution rackets were busted in religious centres like Yadadri, which was also considered next to Tirupati. Injecting hormones and pushing the children into prostitution was an unpardonable crime, he lamented.

The BJP leader said due to government's negligence the police were not taking kidnap cases seriously. He said 2,283 children were missing in the state out of which 912 children were still untraceable. He also demanded a thorough investigation of the incident.
