Will Take Forward Dr YSR’s Ideals: Cong

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Congress leaders today celebrated YSR Jayanti here. The Congress leaders if both the Telugu states gathered at Hyderabad Central where they garlanded the statue of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and paid their respects. KVP Ramachandra Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Shabbir Ali, Youth Congress president Anil Yadav and Indira Shoban were leaders who participated in the programme. Later, at Gandhi Bhavan they cut a cake and also organised blood donation camp.

TPCC working president Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said that their party would carry forward the ideals of Dr YSR. He said the people's leader had initiated different irrigation and drinking water projects in the united state. He reminded the people that it was Dr YSR who had initiated the Babasaheb Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella project. On occasion of YSR Jayanti, they placed a huge photo of Dr YSR at Indira Bhavan in Gandhi Bhavan premises, wherein all the leaders paid floral tributes to the departed leader.

As part of the programme Congress leader KVP Ramachandra Rao distributed bed sheets to poor. Addressing the gathering Shabbir Ali said Dr YSR introduced many welfare schemes and we wish to continue to take forward his ideals. Anjan Kumar Yadav reminded everyone that it was Dr YSR who had started the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
