Telangana MLAs to Get Huge Pay Hike

Hyderabad: The TRS government is contemplating hiking the pay package of MLAs and MLCs by nearly 400 percent.Determined to improve the performance of all the elected representatives irrespective of party affiliations, the chief minister KCR is seriously thinking of raising the salaries of MLAs and MLCs from the present Rs95,000 per month to anything around Rs3,00,000 per month. This is going to improve their motivation levels and performance in the public domain and at the same time would drastically reduce corruption which has been a synonym for politics for decades. The hike will be proportionately bigger for cabinet ministers. CM is reported to have gathered details of remuneration for people's representatives in other states, especially Delhi where similar steps were taken by the Kejriwal government in the recent past. A government order on the hike is expected to come out soon, according to sources.
