Telangana issue: Is Botsa up to it?

It would be a challenge for PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana to handle the State Level Party Convention scheduled on December 16.

The PCC chief today held a meeting with the available ministers and MLAs of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts at Gandhi Bhavan.

It is said that Botsa has directed the leaders not to raise Telangana or Samaikyandra issues at the proposed state level convention meeting. But Jubilee Hills MLA, P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy questioned Botsa on how to excuse once if someone raised the Telangana issue. Reacting to the MLA's question, the PCC chief said he would handle the situation.

However, other leaders tried to reason out with the PCC chief, saying that it was a forum for all the leaders to express their opinion. And how could we stop them from raising the statehood issue?. Botsa replied that he would convince them not to raise Telangana issue at the meeting.

The buzz is that  Botsa has also asked the MLAs to bring at least 300 party workers from each constituency. Pro-Telangana workers too will attend the meeting and in all likelihood raise 'jai Telangana slogans'. Now, it is a big task for Botsa to either control or convince them at the meeting.
