There's no doubt Telangana government has been successfully implementing all the developmental activities. However, it has failed to develop villages in the state because of the poor panchayat Raj system. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday announced some programmes in a bid to improve the village revenue system.

Addressing the District Collectors conference at Pragati Bhavan, the CM said that the government was planning to have Panchayat elections next month. He also said that his government will soon notify if there will be a direct or indirect elections. "Over 4000 more Panchayats will be added this time," stated KCR.

The new Panchayats will be formed under the state legislature along with new Geographical boundaries. The boundaries will set up by January 25 by the village Panchayat officer. The Chief minister also requested the District collectors and Panchayat officers to send their suggestions to the secretary.

The suggestions will be incorporated in the new Panchayat Bill along with the guidelines for elections. The bill will be presented in the Assembly in the first week of February.

Pointing out the village issues like sanitation and cleanliness, the Telangana CM also said that the government was also planning to amend the Municipal Act, where the Panchayats will now be under the Municipality.

On the other hand, to uplift the revenue department, the government is planning to replace the multi-tier revenue courts with single court system at district level. The chief minister also directed the revenue officials to issue new passbooks for farmers from March 11.

From March 12, there will be a drastic change in the revenue department. Along with 141 sub-registrar offices, 443 Mandal offices will perform the work of property registrations and there will be no separate department for the registrations, the chief minister said.

The Chief Minister also told the district Collectors that applications for ‘Sada Bainamas’ will not be entertained after March 12. Land transfer should be made on either registration or by hereditary mutation.
