Telangana Deputy CM reminsces about YSR

Telangana deputy chief minister Dr Tatikonda Rajaiah went down the memory lane and recalled the late YSR's role in giving a new lease of life in the political arena.

"I was defeated twice at the hustings. Yet, YSR called me and gave me the party ticket to contest again. I was third time lucky and won by 11000 votes," Rajaiah reminisced at a felicitation organised by several Dalit Associations in the Indira Priyadarsini Auditorium in Nampally on Sunday.

He recalled that YSR had promised to make him health minister if elected. "I am still unable to come to terms with Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy," he said and added that it was YSR who nudged him into politics.

“I started my life as a shepherd. Then I became a children's specialist. Now, I am a minister and I have a greater responsibility of working for the poor people,” said the deputy chief minister.
