Telangana CETs To Have Centers In All New Districts

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education announced the dates of Eamcet, Ecet, Lawcet and PGLcet on Monday.

TSCHE chairman Papi Reddy said that Eamcet and Ecet would be held on May 12 and May 6 respectively. "Students can submit online applications on respective official websites of the examinations from early next month. With NEET coming into the picture, Eamcet will not be conducted for MBBS and BDS seats. But aspirants who want to seek admissions for courses such as DPharm, Agriculture, and Engineering will have to appear for Eamcet," said Reddy.

The application process for Eamcet and Ecet will begin from March 3 and March 2 respectively. While Eamcet will be conducted in written and online mode, Ecet will be held only in online mode. The Ecet is meant for only diploma holders and BSc (Mathematics) degree holders who want to seek lateral admission into BE/BTech, BPharmacy 2nd year.

The registration fee for submission of online application for Eamcet is Rs250 for SC/ST candidates and Rs500 for others. Similarly, the fee for Ecet is Rs300 for SC/ST candidates and Rs500 for those belonging to other category .

The JNTU-H, responsible for conducting Eamcet and Ecet, has also increased the number of regional centres with addition of new districts in Telangana. As per the release issued by the university, Nirmal, Bhuvanagiri, Suryapet, Kothagudem, Sangareddy , Siddipet, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Shamshabad and Peddapally are among the new centres that have been added. Three regional centres have also been established in Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

The TSCHE also released the schedule for Telangana law common entrance test (Lawcet) and Telangana postgraduate law common entrance test (PGLcet).

The common entrance tests for law will be conducted by Kakatiya University, Warangal, for admissions into three-year LLB, five-year LLB and two-year LLM courses offered in the university and private law colleges across the state.

As per the schedule, Lawcet will be held on May 27 from 10 am to 11.30am and PGLcet will be held the same day from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. Submission and registration of online application form with registration fee of Rs350 for others and Rs250 for SC/ST candidates will begin from March 4. The last date for submission of application forms is April 4.
