Teenager Sets Father Afire On Being Told To Study Well

Mancherial: A teenager set his father ablaze in Caltex Colony in Bellampally on Monday night after he was being scolded for not concentrating on studies.

Akula Akhil is pursuing a polytechnic course in a private college in the town. Neglecting his studies, he has always been partying with friends and roaming outside. On Monday, his father Ramesh (44) reprimanded him for his carelessness towards studies. Enraged by father's rebuke, he poured kerosene on Ramesh and set him afire.

Neighbors, who heard the screams, rushed in to put out the fire and admitted him in a hospital. The doctors stated his condition to be critical.

The boy was taken into custody.
