Techie arrested for hacking woman’s account and threatening to upload morphed images

Vijayawada: After 25 days of rigorous efforts, the cyber cell on Thursday apprehended a software engineer, Sashidharan Sundarajan (27) who hacked into his colleagues account and threatened to circulate her pictures on social media.

“It took 25 days to nab the culprit. The cyber cell did an efficient job in tracking the person and finally revealing his identity, the IP address, mock address, house address and his mobile phone number. We finally arrested him in Bangalore,” P Hari Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada said.

Addressing the media, Hari Kumar said the accused used high-end techniques to remain anonymous and in turn eliminated chances of getting caught.

“He used ‘Tor browser’ tool to send message on the ‘darknet’ to remain as anonymous,” he added.

The victim, native of Vijayawada, went to Bangalore as an internee to work at a software company Hansa Research.

The victim got trained under Sashidharan for four months. In this process both exchanged the emial IDs and the accused started harassing her after she left to Vijayawada.
