TDP rule quixotic: YSRCP

Describing as quixotic the two-month TDP term, YSR Congress has said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has put the clock of State development backwards in this period and no efforts were made to fulfill his poll promises.

“Though the Chief Minister has been cutting a sorry face and screaming that there are no funds to meet the expenses, he has spent over Rs 53 crores for his extravagant swearing-in ceremony and refurbishing his camp office on one hand and has put up hundis to collect donations for building the new state capital,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Sunday.

Hundis are supposed to be set up by Endowments Department and Chief Minister placing one in his office and time and again telling that the economy of the state is in dire straits sends very wrong signals as such words and deeds would influence people who come to his office for various reasons.

During the two months, the development of the state has taken a backseat and all his experience of nine years as Chief Minister and ten years as leader of opposition came of no use in implementing the poll promises, he said.

People have voted TDP with the hope that they would benefit out of the loan waiver, jobs and pensions but the Chief Minister turning a blind eye now has disappointed them, he said adding that during his previous term the anti-incumbency factor came into play after nine years but it has set in just two months after Chandrababu Naidu took over this time.

YSR has started the Jalayagnam and has completed   over 75 % of the works. The Chief Minister is trying to draw Rs 20, 0000 for some select projects and is showing discrimination for obvious reasons, he said.
