The TDP is continuing its dubious policy of fielding candidates where it does not have the required strength despite getting in to soup in Telangana region and has been using official machinery and money power, the YSR Congress Party has said.

“The TDP has pitted candidates in Prakasam and Kurnool local body MLC elections knowing fully well that it does not have sufficient numbers. This only shows that it is replaying the same script that backfired in Telangana,” party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Thursday.

TDP is trying to misuse official machinery to manipulate the numbers and the officials should act in an impartial manner, he said.

While TDP leaders are playing up the Section 8 part of the State Reorganisation Act 2014, they are silent on major issues like special status and others which will be beneficial to the State. The numerous trips to Delhi are only to avoid embarrassing situations in the scam and there is no governance in the state as core issues are ignored, he said.

“Our Party’s stand is very clear, it is not just Section 8 but the entire Act in totality should be implemented in the State,” he added.
