While the TDP MPs have drawn widespread criticism for not passing their vote on the FDI in Rajya Sabha, their reasons or rather the excuses that they have given for doing so is even more funny!

While one leader claimed that he was unwell, another said she went out of the Rajya Sabha to get medicine, the most funny excuse was from another MP who said that she was forced to skip the session as she could not get a flight to Delhi.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, TDP MP, T Devender Goud said that he had an appointment with the doctor. He said that his ill-health did not permit him to attend said the session.

However, he also dropped a bomb by saying he had kept the party chief informed about the same!

MP Y Sujana Chowdhary said that he came out of the House (Rajya Sabha) to buy medicine for Cold. This reason has kind of given comic relief to the hot issue!

Gundu Sudha Rani on the other hand, went one step further to make the incident more funny by saying that she had to rush to Hyderabad to call upon an ailing relative. However, when she tried to get back to on Delhi on December 7, all flights were full!

What's interesting here is that all the three MPs from the TDP whose vote could have made a difference to the FDI issue, managed to skip the crucial session by taking refuge in a silly manner.

Sudha Rani defended her absence by saying, "I did not know that others had also skipped the voting session. And I did not think my voting could make such a serious difference."

Let alone other party members, Naidu's own partymen refuse to accept such frivolous excuses for skipping a session that would decide the fate of busines model in India. What's surprising is that all the MPs claim to have informed Chandrababu Naidu. If Naidu did know about it before hand, then he should have made sure that at least one MP presented himself at the Parliament.

Interestingly, during the "Vastunna Meekosam" padaytra while he was interacting with the farming community, he had asserted that he would not allow FDI in retail as it would affect the agricultural sector.

However, when it came to practicality, Naidu went against his word by acting contrary to what he had promised. Isn't this double standards?
