TDP MP demolishes houses of poor people for land grabbing

Srikakulam: TDP MP from Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituency K. Rammohan Naidu forcefully demolished the houses under construction in a portion of common lands in the village on Tuesday.

Rammohan owns a land of 40 cents beside the village common land where several poor families are residing in Srikakulam town. The TDP MP has been reportedly pressurizing the locals to sell out those lands to him to which they had refused. As the TDP leader insisted on leaving the land for him, the locals approached the concerned Revenue officials. Later, they moved the court on the land,after the officials stating the land belongs to government.

The court has ordered the ‘status quo’ on the issue. Meanwhile, Rammohan demolished the houses under construction in the locality on Tuesday. “MP Rammohan Naidu has been pressurizing me to sell off my land to him. But I refused to sell it. Now, he has demolished my house which is under construction”, one of the victims alleged.
