TDP MLA’s Followers Thrash Farmer, Constable

Anantapur: Followers of TDP MLA Varadapuram Suri on Monday thrashed a farmer for refusing to part with his land that is situated adjacent to a police station in Patnam village of Mudigubba mandal.

The MLA had on several occasions told farmer Kotireddy to part with his land, which the latter refused. On Monday, several of the MLA's followers cornered the farmer and beat him up. A police constable who tried to rescue the farmers was also beaten up mercilessly. Later, they took away a cellphone from a bystander who captured the incident. Farmer Kotireddy and his relatives lodged a police complaint.
