Gudiwada: A woman, who came to seek loan, was sexually harassed by a TDP leader in Gudiwada town in Krishna district.

According to the police, Gudiwada's 34th Ward TDP Councillor B Shivasri's husband Boddu Narayana promised the woman of monetary help in return for sexual favours. As she was in dire need of money, Narayana had asked her to come to his house a couple of days ago. He, then, tried to molest her by touching her in an inappropriate manner at his house. On Friday, the victim along with her family members approached the police and lodged a complaint against the TDP leader.

Meanwhile, Narayana and his wife Shivasri tried to hush up the matter and asked the victim to settle the issue amicably. The couple invited the victim and her family members to their house and attacked them with mosquito repellent spray.

As the victim and her family raised an alarm, neighbours rushed to the scene and freed them from the couple. Locals gathered at the TDP Councillor's house and allegedly thrashed Shivasri and her husband. Based on a complaint from the victim, a case was registered against the TDP Councillor and her husband Narayana. The police also registered a case against the woman based on a complaint lodged by Councillor Shivasri.
