Condemning the TDP Government’s move of lifting cases against its party leaders, including ministers, YSR Congress has said that it would explore legal options as such a move would send wrong signals and lead to anarchy.

"The state has issued 132 GOs to facilitate the lifting of cases against seveal TDP leaders and many of them are criminal cases against ministers, MLAs, MLCs and former elected representatives. The list includes the speaker of the assembly also,’ party spokesperson Vasidreddy Padma said on Friday.

"The charges against several leaders are serious in nature. Minister Atcham Naidu faces the charge of atrocities against women. Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy, Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao were facing serious charges and the Government has lifted the cases by issuing 132 GOs during the past three years,'' she said.

The policy of TDP has been to send a signal that there would be no cases if one sails with the ruling party and if one is with the Opposition, cases would be foisted and one sent to jail. This was amply evident in the case of Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who was called rowdy while he was in opposition and many cases including SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) case were foisted. Once he crossed floor, all cases were wiped out and a clean chit was given, she pointed out.

We do not know how many GOs Chandrababu Naidu government has given so far for the welfare of the people, she said. She added the party would explore all options to counter this.
