TDP Govt trying to clamp down on students on special status issue

In a clear effort aimed at weaning the students and the teachers away from the YSRCP-led special status movement, the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh has decided to clamp down on students and the educational instituation. The Higher Education Council has in a latest circular (DO Letter No – APSCHE/University/affiliated colleges/ 2015) has initiated action in the name of ensuring discipline in the colleges.

Significantly, this directive comes after the massive success of students meet in Sri Venakteswara University and Andhra University. In view of YS Jagan’s proposed October 7 deeksha, the orders appear to be hurriedly issued. The APSHEC has said that the orders were being issued under the direction of minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Already, action is being initiated against some teachers who addressed the Vizag meet.
