Kakinada: The TDP-led state government has no time for tribals inflicted with deadly viruses that are destroying their lives, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

The party chief, on Friday, interacted with tribals afflicted with Chaparai fever and admitted to the Kakinada Government Hospital. He enquired with the doctors about the health status and the treatment being provided to the tribals at the hospital. The doctors told YS Jagan the tribals are falling prey to deadly diseases due to lack of nutritious food. The party president questioned the doctors regarding sudden discharge of a large number of patients on Friday morning. They replied that the patients showed signs of recovery and were discharged while other tribals in the hospital were being given nutritious food and medication.

YS Jagan also interacted with the tribals and enquired about basic facilities such as roads, electricity, drinking water, education and food in their villages. They replied that several of these facilities are non-existent in their villages. They also added that during the YSR regime they were given rice but that too was missing during the regime of the present government. They stated that over 10 tribals have already died due to fever and other diseases as they did not have access to health and medication. YS Jagan decried the inaction of the state government and its failure to provide the tribals with access to either 108, 104 or ANM services.

Earlier in the day, YS Jagan met Dalits who were subjected to social boycott at Garagaparru in Palakoderu mandal. He announced formation of a YSRCP committee to address the grievances of Dalits. He, then, reached Kakinada Government Hospital in the evening.
