TDP demand action against defected MLAs

Hyderabad: TDP leaders asked the Telangana assembly speaker to take strict action against the former TDP leaders who jumped into TRS after their win from TDP, based on a petition for their disqualification.

We brought the issue of the MLAs' disqualification to your notice on a number of occasions, but so far you have not made any decision in this regard, a representation given to Speaker S Madhusudanachary by Telangana-based TDP leaders said.

Five TDP MLAs had defected to the TRS, the memorandum said, adding that one of them named T Srinivas Yadav even became a minister. TDP's floor leader in the assembly Erraballi Dayakar Rao and 13 other party leaders were taken into preventive custody on Tuesday after they held a demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan here. Fourteen persons, including Erraballi, were taken into preventive custody for staging a protest near the Raj Bhavan, police said. Erraballi and other party leaders met Governor ESL Narasimhan and then held a protest meeting demanding the resignation of Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Talasani srinivas on Tuesday said that he had submitted his resignation as MLA long ago and is ready to face the polls.
