Revanth Reddy accused T-TDP leader of hobnobbing with TRS while he fought against it.

Vijayawada/Hyderabad: After dilly-dallying for a month with his resignation drama, Telangana TDP working president A. Revanth Reddy finally called it quits on Saturday. He resigned from his party post and also from the primary membership of the party. Revanth, who visited Vijayawada on the invitation of TDP national president and AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the ongoing issue of his plans to leave the party, returned to Hyderabad without meeting his ex-boss. He handed over his resignation letter in the peshi at CM's camp office.

Revanth is also reported to have resigned from the Assembly and is raring to go for a by-election from Congress.

In his resignation letter, Revanth Reddy is reported to have accused T-TDP leaders of hobnobbing with TRS while he fought against it.

The firebrand TD leader, an accused in the infamous note-for-vote case, Revanth finally put an end to speculation over his political future by quitting the party that he served in Telangana for about a decade. He won the election as an MLA in 2009 and 2014 from Kodangal constituency on a TDP ticket.

A staunch follower and close confidante of Chandrababu, Revanth gave rise to speculation a fortnight ago over his leaving the party by meeting Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. The suspense over his political moves continued even after Chandrababu returned from his foreign tour on Friday and met with Telangana TD leaders in Hyderabad. TS TD president L. Ramana briefed Chandrababu on Revanth Reddy's movements. Acting on Chandrababu's directions, Ramana stripped Revanth Reddy of his post of working president.

Revanth visited Chandrababu after attending the Assembly session and sought personal audience. Stating time constraint as reason, Chandrababu invited all the leaders to Vijayawada for further discussion on the issue. While the other leaders - Ramana and Mothkupally Narsimhulu were waiting for the meeting with the party chief, Revanth Reddy handed over his resignation in the CM’s office and returned to Hyderabad. He refused to talk to the media after submitting his resignation letter.

Revanth's exit from TDP seems to have caused no ripples in his party nor any excitement in Congress which he was planning to join. Chandrababu Naidu expressed no worries over Revanth's resignation while speaking to the media in Vijayawada.

Revanth To Congress On Oct 31

Speculations are rife that Revanth Reddy will join Congress on October 31 in the presence of the party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. He is planning to meet the T-Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy and other senior leaders to discuss his entry into the party.
