T-note before Cabinet today

A Cabinet note on Telangana must be one of the major points in the agenda of today (Thursday)’s Cabinet meeting, scheduled at 5.30 PM. Confirming this to the press persons during his briefing at New Delhi, Congress General Secretary and in-charge of the party’s AP affairs, Digvijay Singh said the Cabinet note would come before the Cabinet.

"The bifurcation of the state will start with the adoption of the resolution by the cabinet and sending it through the President  to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly," Digvijay said.
Replying to a question, the state affairs in-charge said the Antony Committee report is to address the concerns of the people of the Seemandhra and the issues arising out of the bifurcation of the state.
"The Antony Committee constituted not to review the decision of the CWC. It has been appointed to look into the issues arising after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh," he said.
When asked about the Seemandhra leaders' meet over resignations in Hyderabad on Thursday, Digvijaya Singh reiterated that the decision of Congress Working Committee on separate Telangana was not unilateral, but, a consequence to the steady consultations with leaders from all regions and also to the consent from all parties.
“They unanimously told that they would abide by the decision of Congress High Command and it is not fair to go back on their word,” he said.
