T Govt to distribute LED bulbs for free in 25 civic bodies

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will be soon be giving away free LED bulbs to all households across the state.

In the first and second phases, each household would be given two 9 watt bulbs and in the third phase, LED bulbs would be provided at subsidised rates.

In the next 100-days, the action plan will be implemented in 25 municipalities. Later, it would be extended to the rural areas. The scheme would cover 90 lakh households in the state.

Minister for Municipal and Urban Development KT Rama Rao reviewed the free LED bulb distribution scheme on Tuesday.
