'T' delay will benefit other parties, Rahul told

There's a lot of speculation over what was discussed during the PCC chief's meet convened by newly appointed AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Friday.

It's a known fact that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana are also attending the meet.

Although party members from other Congress-ruled states too are very much a part of the meeting, sources say the focus is on political developments in Andhra Pradesh. The CM and PCC chief attended the day-long deliberations convened by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi with CLP leaders and PCC presidents in New Delhi on Friday. The second day of the deliberation started on Saturday.

According to sources, the Telangana issue was raised at the meeting. And it is learnt that Botsa preffered to discuss Telangana when Rahul Gandhi asked about the party's situation in the state. He reportedly told Rahul that if Telangana issue was not resolved, there is bound to be turbulence in both the regions in the state and the problems will aggravate if there's any more delay on the issue. He also told Rahul to announce the party's decision on 'T' before election in the best interests of the party.

It is also learnt that Kiran Kumar Reddy also discussed on the issue with the new vice-president. He is believed to have told that if the decision did not come soon, the YSR Congress party and TRS will take advantage of the situation.

The chief minister made it clear that they were ready to face consequences irrespective of what the Congress chose to decide on the issue.

Rumor has it that while Kiran Kumar Reddy pledged his support for a united state, Botsa kept mum on the issue to avoid further controversies.
