Suryapet will become district headquarter by March: KCR

Nalgonda: Suryapet will become district headquarter of Nalgonda district by March of 2016, said Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday after laying foundation stone for 2BHK scheme here. The CM flew to Suryapet after attending Amaravathi foundation stone laying ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that he would once again visit the town within 15 days and sanction all the necessary amenities.

Telangana CM said the scheme was intended for poor people of Telangana to make them live proudly by providing them first class 2BHK flats.

Reiterating his promise in his speech, he said “As I promised earlier, Suryapet will be district headquarter by this March and I will sanction new district-level offices, ring-road around the town, construction of AC-markets in place of old ones, 2BHK flats for 500 poor people in two or three areas of the town, Irrigation water for Suryapet and Tungathurthi regions from Midmaneru project,'' he said, adding, drinking water-grid programme would be undertaken on war footing.
