Sudden rainfall gives respite from heatwave

"Some parts of the city received rain, squally wind, gale and hail as well. According to our weather charts there was some thunder-storm activity over the city," said a senior meteorologist from the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad center.
On Sunday, Ramagundam witnessed maximum temperature which recorded 45 degrees,Medak recorded 44 and Hanamakonda recorded 43 degrees, while Anantapur and Kurnool recorded 43, and Kadapa recorded 42.
Sunna Rao, and independent meteorologist apprised that unseasonal rain was caused by the interaction of an upper air trough spanning from Chhattisgarh to Karnataka, and an anti-cyclonic circulation over north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
This kind of situation would prevail for few more days, mornings being sultry while evenings witnessing rainfall for short duration, he added.
