Subramanian Swamy attacked with tomatoes and eggs

Kanpur: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday was attacked by Congress leaders and protesters in Kanpur.

Subramanian Swamy , was on his way to attend a seminar on Global terrorism in VSSD college in Kanpur, when Congress followers pelted his car with tomatoes, eggs and ink and while waving black flags, However with the help of police he was escorted safely.

A video clearly shows how the protesters were bombarding the former cabinet minster's car with eggs, tomatoes and ink while waving black flags around his car, Video also showcases protesters shouting slogan and making it difficult for Subramanian Swamy to pass. In the end, he was seen being escorted under heavy police protection from the scene.

Congress district President Harprakash Agnihotri led the protest of his party workers. BJP district President Surendra Maithani alleged that police and the district administration were informed prior to Swamy's visit but no security arrangements were made.

However the reason for the outburst remains unknown. Subramanian Swamy is known for bold statements on JNU agitation and the recent Ayodhya and National Herald case issue.
