Startling facts about paper leak

Hyderabad: The police probe into the Telangana EAMCET-2 paper leak is underway; however with the information that is already available in public domain, it is not difficult to see that there indeed has been mischief.

Students who secured ranks in the tens of thousands in the Andhra Pradesh medical entrance were able to get good ranks in the hundreds in TS EAMCET that will surely land them seats in medical colleges in Telangana.

A student who scored rank in the 55,000’s in AP, secured 1502 in TS Eamcet-2. Another student who got a rank above 24,000 in AP secured 704 here. Two other examples show students who got ranks in the range of 10,000 and 25,000 in AP securing 141 and 952 here respectively.

It was information such as this that cast doubts in the minds of certain parents. This was fortified by the fact that these students were only seen as average by the study centres who were themselves surprised at the ranks that they scored.

Another startling fact is that these students were not reachable or seen a couple of days before the exam. They landed directly in Hyderabad on the day of the exam. It is being said that they were taken to locations such as Bengaluru and Mumbai to be trained on the exam paper.

Paper leak, not the first time

In 2014 the PG medical entrance paper was also leaked. The investigation that followed, had traced the paper leak to a printing press in Delhi. It is being reported that the same persons who were named in the investigation back then are also being named now as well.

Two of the three key persons have been arrested so far by the police.

About 30 students were reportedly taken to Bengaluru and Mumbai, 48 hours before the exam to be trained, before being flown down to Hyderabad on the day of the exam.

The police who are to submit an investigation report within 24 hours, after which the government is to take a decision on the matter. It is also learnt that the CID is also looking into all the medical exams that have been conducted since 2014.
