Students Held With LSD, Marijuana And cocaine in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police arrested four persons on Tuesday in two separate incidents which include a BTech dropout on drug peddling charges.

In the first incident, a 23-year-old youth Ravi Kumar was arrested and was found in possession of 7 g of cocaine, 10 LSD blots and 2 kg of marijuana. The police also seized a two-wheeler and a mobile phone from him. Kumar hails from Nalgonda and came to the City in 2013 to pursue BTech. However, he got deviated from studies during the third year of his engineering course after he got addicted to drugs. He procured sachets from one Gullu from Dhoolpet at Rs 500 each.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said, "In 2016, Kumar started using LSD, which he bought during his Goa visit. Egventually, he started selling drugs, including LSD and cocaine, to youngsters, especially engineering students, after settling deals over WhatsApp. He purchased the contraband from agency areas in Visakhapatnam and Khammam."

In another case, three persons were held by the Malkajgiri police Special Operations Team. The officials found them in possession of marijuana at Pedda Amberpet ORR. The accused are Ravinder, Thammi Naidu and Sai Shiva Kumar. Out of the three, Ravinder was the prime suspect while, other two were his accomplice who helped him in transportation. The three have been remanded to judicial custody after being produced in the court.
