Student Leaders Arrested Near Ministers’ Quarters  

Hyderabad: Police arrested several student leaders when a group of students tried to lay siege to the Ministers' Quarters at Banjara Hills in the city demanding release of pending fees dues on Wednesday.

Students under All India Students Federation (AISF) banner took out a rally shouting slogans condemning the state government's apathy towards students' problems. They demanded immediate release of Rs3,000 dues towards fees reimbursement.

"The chief minister is enthusiastic about spending hundreds of crores on secretariat only to benefit a few contractors, but he is not concerned about the students' fees dues which are accumulated in thousands of crores as the state government never bothered to clear them," student leaders said.

Police intervened when the rally approached the quarters and arrested over a dozen students leading the agitation.
