Student, Father Knocked Down By MMTS At Hitech City 

Hyderabad: A BTech student and her father were knocked down by an MMTS train at Hitech City railway station late on Sunday.

Alekhya, who was about to finish her degree this month, along with two of her classmates Swarna Bharathi and Lakshmi attended a walk-in interview at an IT firm in Hitech City. Her father Venkataramana accompanied the girls as it was his week off. It was around 9pm when they reached the station on their way back home after finishing the interview.

As they were waiting for the train, Alekhya's file containing her certificates slipped on the track. In the darkness, she too fell on the track as she tried to gather her papers. On finding a train entering the station, father and her friends tried to pull her back. However, the train knocked her down by then and the father also came under the train as he was desperately trying to save the girl. The two friends of Alekhya also sustained injuries and they are being treated at a hospital in Kukatapally.
