Strict measures to control price rise: Etela Rajender

Hyderabad: The Telangana finance minister Etela Rajender on Wednesday said that strict measures were being undertaken by the government to control the price rise of essential commodities in the state. He was speaking during the Question Hour of the Assembly session.

The minister indicated that due to these measures there has not been any increase in the price of rice from last year. As a measure to control price rise of essential commodities, the minister revealed that the government has decided to increase the production yield and to incentivize the farmers to produce more.

He stated that cases are being booked against those who resorted to hoarding grain to black market it and added that an unprecedented 2,500 cases have been booked so far. The minister revealed that the chief minister KCR had conducted 12 meetings in the past 12 months and gave instructions to monitor the prices.
