Station Ghanapur Tense With Protests Against Inclusion In Jangaon District

Effective from Wednesday, the 144 section will be in force for next one week, said district police superintendent. People from all sections in Station Ghanpur are staging dharnas in protest against inclusion in the Jangaon district.

Warangal: District Police Superintendent on Wednesday imposed 144 section in Station Ghanpur in the wake intensified agitation against inclusion in the proposed Jangaon district. While agitation for creation of new districts, revenue divisions and mandals is going on at select places in the State, people from Station Ghanpur are raising voice against inclusion in the Jangaon district.

The 144 section will be in force for next one week, said district police superintendent. People from all sections in Station Ghanpur are staging dharnas in protest against inclusion in the Jangaon district.

Earlier, the proposal on Hanmkonda district had angered people of Jangaon and Mulug. People from these two towns staged protests on seeking to make those places as district headquarters. Hanamkonda district has come as a surprise to many in this region as neither leaders nor public have made any demand in that connection.

According to preliminary reports, Hanamkonda district will have Warangal West, Palakurthi, Station Ghanpur assembly constituencies in addition to parts of Wardhannapet along with Huzurabad and Husnabad assembly constituencies of Karimnagar district. If Jangaon is created as new district, Station Ghanpur will be part of the new district. People from Station Ghanpur are against inclusion in the Jangaon district.

Warangal district will have Warangal East, Narasampet, Parkal and part of Wardhannapet assembly constituencies. Mahabubabad district will have Mahabubabad, Dornakal, Yellandu and other constituencies while Bhupalpalli is likely to have Mulug and Manthani constituencies.
