Srikanth Reddy, Ravindranath Reddy begin fast unto death

YSR district: Rayachory MLA belonging to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Srikanth Reddy and former chief minister late Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy's brother-in-law and Kadapa former mayor Ravindranath Reddy on Monday morning sat on a `fast unto death' protest demanding that the state be kept united.

YSRCP activists have given a call for a bandh of Rayachoty today expressing solidarity with the Rayachoty MLA.

It may be recalled here that Srikanth Reddy submitted his resignation from the Assembly membership two days before the Congress came out with its decision on July 30 to bifurcate the state and grant statehood to Telangana.

Meanwhile, a series of protests continued in the Seemandhra region for the thirteenth consecutive day against the Centre's decision to divide the state.

The Samaikyandhra supporters, including students, also held road-blockades, dharnas, formed human chains in Visakhapatnam, Chittoor, Kurnool, Srikakulam, Ananthapuram and YSR districts. (Also Read)
