Sridevi’s Journey in Telugu Film From ANR, NTR To Nagarjuna, Venkatesh

Timeless beauty Sridevi who entertained the audience for over four decades passed away on Saturday due to accidental drowning. She was 54. The actress’ death has created a huge vacuum in the film industry.

Sridevi is popular across the Indian film industries—Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood. She began her career as a child artiste in all the three industries. The actress has not only shared screen space with senior actors like NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageshwar Rao and Super star Krishna, she was also seen with younger stars like Venkatesh and Nagarjuna later.

The actress appeared alongside Krishna in over 30 films and had gained huge stardom after her appearance in movies like Kshana Kshanam with Venkatesh, Devatha with Sobhan Babu, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari with Chiranjeevi and Govindaa Govindaa with Nagarjuna.

Sridevi, who acted as the granddaughter of NTR in Badi Panthulu later appeared as the lead actress in NTR films like Vetagadu (1979), Aatagadu (1980), Sardar Papa Rayudu (1980), Kondaveeti Simham (1981), Bobbili Puli (1982), Anuraga Devata (1982) and Justice Chowdhary (1982).

With ANR, the actress appeared in the films Mudulla Koduku (1979), Premabhishekham (1981), Premakanuka (1981), Guru Sishyulu (1981) and Bangaru Kanuka (1982) as female lead. She was also seen in ANR movies like Shrimantudu and Bharya Biddalu, where she worked as a child artiste.

Sridevi was seen in numerous Telugu and Tamil films. She moved to Bollywood where after marrying notable Hindi producer Boney Kapoor.

She also acted with Super star Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, which were dubbed into Telugu owing to her popularity back here. Sridevi's acting in Sadma with Kamal Haasan is one of her most memorable performances for all her fans.
