According to latest reports, the Dubai Police has handed Sridevi's family the clearance letter after carrying out the necessary formalities and investigations.

Sridevi was found motionless in the bathtub of her hotel room in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai on Saturday around 11pm, according to a source in the Indian Consulate in Dubai.

According to latest reports, the family members were spotted at the morgue to collect the body of the actress after getting clearance from the concerned authorities.

Update: Dubai Police has handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming.

It's worth mentioning here that the Dubai police handed over the case to the Dubai public prosecution after post mortem report revealed that the Sridevi death cause was from drowning and not cardiac arrest as reported earlier.

Even Sridevi's step son Arjun Kapoor rushed back to Dubai after the case got complicated is reportedly accompanying his father Boney Kapoor.

It's worth mentioning here that the Dubai Public Prosecution recreated the events leading to Sridevi's death for which even her husband Boney Kapoor gave his testimony.

Sridevi, Boney and daughter Kushi were in Dubai to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah while older daughter Jhanvi stayed back in India due to prior film commitments.

While Sridevi stayed back to spend time with her sister srilatha, Boney flew back to Mumbai. Surprisingly though he came back the very next day which caught Sridevi unawares. They were to have dinner together on that fateful night.

The death of the legendary Bollywood actress has left a huge void in the Hindi film industry. Social media is flooded with condolence messages while fans and celebrities are awaiting the arrival of her body to pay their last respects.
