Sri Chaitanya Student Jumps Off Building After Being Caught Cheating In Exam

Hyderabad: Intermediate students at corporate colleges, especially Narayana and Sri Chaitanya colleges in the city and elsewhere, are becoming more and more vulnerable academic pressure and are putting their lives at risk.

A girl student at Bachupally campus of Sri Chaitanya Junior College on the city outskirts on Sunday jumped off the second floor of the college building where she was writing a monthly unit test.

According to the college staff, the student was caught copying by the invigilator. She felt so humiliated that she wanted to commit suicide, ran out and jumped off the second floor. Fortunately, her fall was cushioned by grass and she escaped with minor injuries. She sustained injuries to her legs as she fell on the grass on the ground.

The college staff rushed the girl to a hospital from where she was discharged after treatment to the injuries. She was handed over to her parents.

A student of Bowrampet campus of Narayana Junior College went missing from the hostel after leaving a note to her parents last week. Another boy of Narayana College in Kompally also went missing after writing a note to his parents saying he wanted to end life. Both the students are yet to be traced by the police.

Sri Chaitanya College student Samyuktha ended her life on October 12 in Madhapur. She left a suicide note stating that she was not able to withstand the studies pressures. She was taking medical long-term coaching at the college.
