Spyder Touches Rs 150 Crore Mark 

The Cassandras of Tollywood have been proved wrong. Two weeks after its release, Tollywood star Mahesh Babu’s Spyder has surpassed the predictions of movie analysts and soothsayers alike by going past the Rs 150 crore mark, which is considered a benchmark of sorts.The bilingual Spyder, had come in for sharp criticism across both the Telugu-speaking states, but has surprised movie pundits with a fairly good show at the till. It has has a good run at the box office in the US, as well.

Incidentally, it was Mahesh Babu’s first Tamil film and has met with a warm reception in the TN capital. The Tollywood superstar opted to dub his Tamil dialogues all by himself, confident of his proficiency in the language.

Spyder's plot revolves around Shiva, an intelligence officer (Mahesh Babu), whose brief is to nab a psychopath. SJ Suriyah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bharath and RJ Balaji pitch in with their key roles. The action-thriller, whose music was scored by Harris Jeyaraj, is AR Murugadoss’ first collaborative effort with Super Star Mahesh Babu.
