The IPL 2019 is all set to begin shortly and in the 12th edition of IPL, players from the West Indies raked a good amount of money.

Standing one among the three highest-paid foreign players in the 2019 IPL auctions is Carlos Brathwaite, he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for a whopping Rs 5 crore Brathwaite had played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition of the league. A dangerous batsman, he can turn a game on its head in no time with his hard-hitting sixes. His yorkers with the ball could come in handy for KKR. While Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to bag Shimron Hetmyer for a sum of Rs 4.2 crore.

The Indian Premier League has become a proving ground for the West Indian players making quick runs between the wickets and delivering balls at appropriate length.

With some astonishing performances in the past editions Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Smith have been adding to their teams strength in clinching the cup in the past editions.

Kings XI Punjab was benefited by Chris Gayle’s ton in the begginning of the last edition. Meanwhile, Narine has come up with some stellar performance for his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Apparently, the KKR franchise had faced tough competition from Kings XI Punjab to get Brathwaite on-board. Other player Hetmyer was bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 4.20 crore. A total of 351 players came forward for the auction for 70 places.
