Sharat BR, A Promising Cricketer To Watch Out For In Karnataka  

Karnataka has groomed several young talent who have made it to the international arena. Now, there's another promising cricketer who can bring glory to the state. He's none other than Sharath BR, who scored a century on his debut in the Elite group A Ranji trophy match against defending champions vidarbha. Sharath achieved this feat when the team was at a critical point after Karnataka had lost 4 wickets for 87 runs.

But that did not deter this young player from being aggressive as he knocked off 20 fours in 161 balls which paved the way for Karnataka team to take a lead of 71 runs in the first innings. He was ably backed by another talented youngster Nischal who also contributed 113 runs (338b 10*4).

Sharath became the only batsman to score a century in his debut after a span of nearly twenty years. This came as a huge relief for Karnataka in the absence of K.L.Rahul who is on National duty representing India.

It remains to be seen how this young lad will nurture his talent as a wicket keeper and batsman in the days to come to retain his place in the Ranji squad and venture further to make it to the national team.
