Nellore: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is getting a good response from the people and the party cadre after Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the party MPs will resign on April 6.

The resignations are aimed at pressursing the central government to accord special status for Andhra Pradesh as declared in the AP Bifurcation Act. At the Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Kaligiri of Udayagiri constituency, on Tuesday, YSRCP chief YS Jagan said that the party will start dharnas at all the district collectorates followed by resignations by the YSRCP MPs. Following the announcement by YS Jagan, the party's district leaders have issued statements extending their support.

M Vijayaprasad, YSRCP Visakha City President

The central and state governments have to stop making false promises on special status. Dharnas will be held in every town and district for special status for Andhra Pradesh. The resignations by YSRCP MPs will force the TDP and BJP to follow suit.

Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP Anakapalli Leader

The BJP and the TDP have cheated the people on special status. Both parties will meet the same fate as the Congress if special status is not accorded.

CH Narasinga Rao, CPM

The decision of MPs resignation is a right one to force the central government. Strong protests are the need of the hour. The Left parties support the protests by YSRCP in getting special category status for Andhra Pradesh.
