Special Status Is A Sensitive Issue, Can Not Be Resolved By Creating Unnecessary Controversy: Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad: Tollywod actor and Jan Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan on Saturday said the issue of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh that was promised by the BJP led NDA government post the bifurcation of AP was a sensitive issue and it can not resolved by creating meaningless controversies.

Speaking to the media persons, the actor-politician, who tweeted on the same on April 30, opined that the Central and state governments should take measures towards the fulfillment of the promise of Special Status. The issue is under discussion even as opposition party has been fighting for the same, he said, adding that he could not do anything about it at the moment as a single person as the issue is very sensitive.

When asked what he would do if the Centre did not deliver on its promise, Pawan said, “There are elected MPs and MLAs in the state. It is their responsibility, if the centre makes a clear announcement that they will not be implementing the promise, then we will decide our next course of action. But, right now, I don’t want to talk and take a step in haste”

The ‘Gabbar Singh’ actor also congratulated the silver medalist shuttler PV Sindhu for her outstanding achievement in Rio Olympics.
