Speaker suspends 9 Seemandhra leaders from LS

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Monday suspended 9 Seemandhra leaders from the House for five days for disrupting its proceedings on the Telangana issue.

The Speaker suspended the MPs under rule 374 (A) of parliamentary proceedings, which essentially suspends them for the next five sittings.

The suspended MPs include: Savarshri A Sai Prathap, Anantha Venkatrami Reddy, L Raja Gopal, Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy and Bapi Raju Kanumuru  from Congress and Nimalla Kristappa, Modugula Venugopala Reddy, Konakalla Narayan Rao and Nirmalalli Sivaprasad from the TDP.

Two TDP members in Rajya Sabha have also been suspended for a day for protesting over the Telangana issue.
